Description
Deutsch: Denkmal in der kleinen Grünanlage zwischen Kirche und Oberer Straße für den 1834 in Schönheide geborenen Carl Eduard Flemming. Der Text auf der Rückseite lautet: "Dem Begründer der Schönheider Bürsten-Grossindustrie, dem Stifter dieses Platzes und Freunde der Kirche, gewidmet von der dankbaren Kirchengemeinde. 1907." Die von Flemmings Vater im Jahr 1831 gegründete Firma, die größte Bürstenfabrik mit den meisten Beschäftigten in Schönheide, wurde nach dem 2. Weltkrieg in der Sowjetischen Besatzungszone enteignet. Die Bürstenfabrik trug zu DDR-Zeiten den Namen Volkseigener Betrieb (VEB) "Flamingo". Heute gehört sie zur BÜMAG eG, einer eingetragenen Genossenschaft zahlreicher Bürstenfabriken.
