Description
English: The famous and ancient temple of Lord Saraswati located in Ward No. 15 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. This temple is located on the hill behind Swayambhu's hill on the west side of Kathmandu. There are various chaityas in this area. Near it is the temple of Saraswati. Manjushree idol is also present in this temple. In front of the same statue, there is an image of Manjushree, one with one eye, on the padmachakra mandala in the middle of the Yantrakara mandala. Hindus worship her as Saraswati and Buddhists worship her as Manjushree. In Buddhist texts, the importance of Manjushree is also considered as Saraswati, while Manjusree is also considered as the goddess of good education. At this place, Buddhists celebrate the birth anniversary of Manjushree, while on Sri Panchami, Hindus take their children here and pray for good education and literacy. Saraswati is also worshiped as the goddess of education, that is, the god of students. On this day, there is a huge crowd of students in this temple. In this temple complex, there are statues of Hindu gods and goddesses including Chaitya Vihar.
