Description
Français : Sarcophage chrétien trouvé à Sayada (Tunisie) et exposé au musée de Lamta.
Deutsch: Frühchristlicher Sarkophag (Friessarkophag), wohl aus prokonnesischem Marmor in Nordafrika um 400 n. Chr. gefertigt. Der Sarkophag gilt hinsichtlich der Auswahl und Abfolge der dargestellten Szenen als völlig einzigartig. Ebenfalls einmalig sind die Beischriften über den Figuren, die offenbar angeben, welcher der Auftraggeber sich mit welcher Figur identifizierte.
