In Hebrew from the w:Sarajevo Haggadah, a famous illuminated manuscript from circa 1350 ce. The illustration on the right-hand page is the Hebrew word Ma (Why) that begins the questions. The illustration on the left is the Hebrew word Avodim (Slaves) that starts the next section of the Haggadah (Slaves we were to to Pharaoh in Egypt...) which begins to answer the questions. |
