Description

Saproamanita manicata (formerly Amanita manicata) (Berk. & Broome) Pegler

  • Observation Notes: An Saproamanita manicata (formerly Amanita manicata) fungi mushroom growing in a lawn at Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, USA.
  • The specimen had a butter yellow cap, white gills. The cap was slightly slimy to the touch, no visible veil under fully open caps. The veil tend to shred as the caps blossom leaving just few hanging tags on the perimeter of the caps. It had a strong wet dog smell mixed with a slight chemical odor.
For more information about this, see the observation page at Mushroom Observer.
