[edit]DescriptionSandon Dock, Liverpool - geograph.org.uk - 1657943.jpg |
English: Sandon Dock, Liverpool Photographed from the Mersey Ferry. Everton Waterworks is visible on the skyline about 3/4 of the way to the right margin. The vessel with white upperworks and buff funnel is the 1930s super-yacht Nahlin. Now restored in Germany and on sea trials in December 2009. It is rumoured that she belongs to James Dyson - he of the bagless vacuum cleaner fame.
Photographer position approximate. According to an anonymous contributor via Penny Mayes - The yacht was totally restored and converted to diesel electric propulsion(2 x 2MW) in Germany. Initially at the Rendsburg yard and afterwards at Blomh + Voss Hamburg. The vessel was restored to an almost identical exterior but with totally new decks and bulkheads. Internally completely new and modern with full new navigational and communications suite. |
