Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Adjacent to Wat Amphawan Chetiyaram, King Rama II (King Buddhalertla Naphalai) Memorial Park is located in Amphawa subdistrict, Amphawa district. This place was the birthplace of King Rama II. The park was constructed by the King Rama II Phraboromrachanusorn Foundation so as to serve as a centre of art and culture created under his great patron during his reign and as a recreational area for general public. The park features an amphitheatre with tiered seating, a botanical garden with various species found in Thai literature, and five traditional Thai buildings. These buildings serves as an ethnology museum exhibiting artefacts created in the early Rattanakosin period. Later, a section of one building once used as a library was damaged by fire, and was reconstructed. The upper floor of the refurbished building is used to store traditional Thai musical instruments, while the ground floor is reserved for young artists of the foundation to practise music.
