Description
English: This image shows the type section of the Salitral Formation, which is near Youngsville, New Mexico, USA. The Salitral Formation is part of the Chinle Group of the late Triassic and is mostly mudstone laid down in a low-energy fluvial environment. The lowermost grayish beds are the Piedra Lumbre Member, capped by the conglomerate of the El Cerrito Bed. The thick reddish brown section above the El Cerrito Bed is the Youngsville Member.
