Description
Français : À la limite sud de la commune, la Serre de Vergès est une enclave de calcaire mésozoïque métamorphisé qui se situe en bordure sud de la zone du granit de Saint-Arnac.

Cette enclave calcaire est délimitée par des failles quasi verticales. Le calcaire a mieux résisté à l'érosion que le granite, et il s'élève haut et bien en vue au-dessus des plateaux et des vallées adjacents.

À noter aussi : ce site précise que, sur la Serre de Vergès, "des dépôts karstiques ont révélé la présence d'une faune de rongeurs d'âge burdigalien inférieur (18 à 19 Ma) au sommet du piton calcaire".
