Sahro is a 50 year old mother of three from Diff village in Afmadow district.

“I remember last year when there was fighting in the village. I had to stay in my home, fearing for my life while the fighting went on. Somalia is like that - you can’t predict what will happen at any time. This year is much better. I can go to bed calmer and less afraid that violence will break out. That’s why I hope for stability. I know it the country will become stable sooner or later but for now I want the government start engaging different communities and encourage communication amongst Somalis.”

“Water here is very scarce and the nearest place I can collect it is Dobley town, 90 kilometres from my home. My children assist when they can. Buying water is out of the question. If there was water available close to where I reside, that would make my life very easy.”
