Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Flag of the Sadiavahy, an anti-colonialist movement in French Madagascar, active between 1910 and 1915; it was centered on the southern Malagasy people, primarily Antandroy, Mahafaly and Bara (all of whom are represented by the violet on the flag; red stands for the island as a whole). Based on reproductions and historical note in Lucien Philippe, "Flags of Political Parties and Movements in Madagascar. From the Colonization until Independence", in Vexilobaires 2005. Proceedings of the XXI International Congress of Vexillology.
