St Mary's (also known as Limerick Cathedral), is a cathedral of the Church of Ireland in Limerick city, which is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. St Marys Cathedral is the oldest and most historic building in Limerick. Founded by Donal Mor O’Brien, King of Munster in 1168 on what was once a Viking meeting house or Tholstel, which then became a medieval palace. |
