Description
English: KNIGHT’S HOUSE (1807) – ALSO KNOWN AS SPRINGHOUSE FARM. PURCHASED BY ERIC AND JERE KNIGHT IN 1939. ERIC KNIGHT IS THE AUTHOR OF “LASSIE COME HOME” FIRST PUBLISHED IN THE SATURDAY EVENING POST IN 1938 AND THEN AS AN NOVEL IN 1940. THE FIRST LASSIE MOVIE PREMIERED IN 1943. KNIGHT’S ROUGH COLLIE “TOOTS” WAS THE INSPIRATION FOR LASSIE AND IS BURIED ON A HILLSIDE ABOVE THE FARM.
