English: "Writ of Richard II to the sheriffs of London, stating that in his last parliament at Westminster, the master and scholars of University College had shown him that Edmund Fraunceys, citizen and grocer of London and Idonia his wife had by collusion between them and the tenants of various tenements in Oxford and its suburb and between them and the mayor and bailiffs of Oxford, before whom the case was heard, sued to disinherit the master and scholars, and because the master and scholars are too poor to prosecute their right at common law, it has been agreed to summon the parties before the council to present their case: therefore the sheriff is asked to inform Edmund and Idonia to appear there at the octave of the Purification."
