Description
Deutsch: Inmitten der Ortschaft Simmern befindet sich die Pfarrkirche Sankt Martin. Einer Legende nach soll Kaiser Heinrich VII. im Jahre 1313 in Italien in den Armen seines engen Freundes Thomas von Siebenborn gestorben sein. Thomas hätte daraufhin in seiner Heimat eine erste Kirche bauen lassen. Kirche und Friedhof bilden ein bemerkenswertes Ensemble sakraler Architektur. Einige der Buchsbaum umrandeten Gräber sind 500 Jahre alt. Zum Mobiliar der Kirche gehört eine in Luxemburg einzigartige Grablegungsszene.
