Description

Runestone Sö 261 in Betby, Södermanland, Sweden. The "runic text" is composed of rune-like characters which have no meaning.

Swedish: Vid åkerkanten i närheten av en liten (och gammal) väg så står det en runsten som är daterad till 1000-talet e.Kr och som sägs vara ett mysterium. För det är ingen som lyckats tyda dessa runor och man tror att det bara är en nonsens inskrift då flera runor inte ser ut att vara riktiga runor och då man inte kan uttyda några ord.

Enligt mig så bör man inte med säkerhet ta detta som nonsens då flera av de udda runor som finns på stenen är ganska lika de som finns på runkalendrar och från runskrifter så som "Maria Klagan" som finns på Kungliga Biblioteket. Så man kanske skall utgå ifrån att runstenen kan ha en annan sorts innebörd eller funktion .

Men det det är mest troligt att det är nonsens runor, men då kommer den mycket intressanta frågan varför man har ristat nonsens på denna sten och vem det är som har ristat stenen.
