Description
English: Inside view of the Portuguese fort of São João Baptista de Ajudá (Ouidah) showing one of the corner bastions. The fort, built in 1721, remained a tiny Portuguese enclave of 1 ha. (2.5 acres) until it was seized by Dahomey (now Benin) in 1961. Postcard from the 1920s.
