English: Ryde: Quay Road Long Stay Car Park I can see no reference to a road called Quay Road here, but that's the name of the car park!
The two adjacent cars in the foreground illustrate the registration plates that are issued on the Isle of Wight: Under the 'old' system (1963-2001), those ending in DL were issued by the Newport office until it closed in 1973 and was transferred to Portsmouth but reserved for use on the island. Similarly, since 2001, the 'new' system uses marks beginning with H for Hampshire & Dorset with HW used specifically on the island. |
