Summary
[edit]DescriptionRussian Monument in Hajdudorog.JPG |
English: The monument commemorates the Russian soldiers who died in cholera after defeating the revolutionary Hungarian troops in the 1848-49 fights. A number of Russian soldiers were buried in Hajdúdorog, Hungary in one single mass grave. For many years the spot was marked with a simple heap which was flattened in the '80s.
This monument was erected above the grave on the 28th of September, 2010. The Hungarian inscription says: "Russian Heap 1848-1849. After the end of the Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight several hundred of Russian soldiers who were stationed at our settlement died of cholera. They were buried in this common grave. The monument was erected by the Local Historical and Town-preserving Association of Hajdúdorog with the financial support of the Local Government of Hajdúdorog. 2010."
2010." A Muszka-halom katonáiról itt olvashat többet. |
