English: Ruined Building next to Ilminster Bypass When the Ilminster bypass was first built it was made with two single wide lanes. it had however been made with the lanes too wide for one car and not wide enough for two. This resulted in drivers trying to overtake whilst there was oncoming traffic and several deaths resulted due to accidents. Large stretches of this road have now been converted to three lanes with a double white line, such as is shown here, and this has resulted in less dangerous overtaking and fewer accidents |
