Description Rugged rocks at Gobustan, Azerbaijan. Now I am not an expert in geology but I was at a loss to understand the geology of the area. The large chunk in the foreground looks distinctly like sedimentary rock, with layering. So sandstone perhaps? Yet the rocks in the background are distinctly granite or basalt. Nature never ceases to amaze. (Gobustan, Azerbaijan, Sept. 2017)
