Summary
[edit]DescriptionRoyal figure enthroned and surrounded by Jinn of the Earth.png |
English: Kashan, Iran, late XIIth -XIIIth century mina’i-fritware bowl. The scene in this bowl can be understood as depicting the enthroned (Second) Sulaymān with messengers to either side, crowned human headed winged jinn.
The arranging of figures is similar to the depiction by the author Suyuti: He describes the prophet Sulaymān to be in the center, surrounded by a circle of humans, again surrounded by a circle of jinn, and the demons outside of his court. |
