Summary
English: Abbé Rousselot was a pioneer of sound research. What he did with this machine is not known in detail. Since Rousselot's interest had to do with the building blocks of human speech ("phonemes"), this machine was probably used for this purpose – to record different frequencies on paper. The wood engraving was made by Louis Poyet, probably around 1890. It appeared in a German pupular magazine and was cut out by a collector. The archive number in the Frankfurt Museum for Communication is 4.0.17985
Jahrgang, Stuttgart, Berlin, Leipzig (Union Deutsche Verlagsgesellschaft) 1893, S. 114. |
