Description

ROTENBURGUM ad Tubarum, elegans Franconiae
oppidum Hierosolomytanae vrbi, situ respondere dicitur, a tur-
rium et tegular[um] rubore, nomen habens, olim proprijs ducibus
paruit, nunc imperio, post Friderici primi secula, acceßit.
English: ROTHENBURG on the Tauber, elegant town of Franconia, is said to correspond to the city of Jerusalem by place, taking the name from the redness of towers and tiles, has once obeyed own leaders, has now accessed the empire after the times of Frederic I.

Deutsch: ROTENBURG ob der Tauber, elegante Stadt Frankens, soll der Stadt Jerusalem nach Lage entsprechen, von der Röte der Türme und Ziegel seinen Namen habend hat sie einst eigenen Führern gehorcht, ist nun dem Reich nach der Zeit Friedrichs I. beigetreten.
