English: This is an image for the purpose of illustrating the phenomenon of twilight. The circle is the Earth, seen from above North Pole. N is the North Pole. P is a grounded observer. The blue line indicates the observer's sightline if he looks towards the horizon at his east and the one at his west, and is a tangent to Earth at point P. The red arrow indicates the direction of sunlight. The solar elevation angle is 12 degree at the moment captured in this diagram.
