Deutsch: Rot-Grau-Schnöllbruch in Adnet, Österreich. – Besitzer: Österr. Bundesforste, Pächter: Marmor Kiefer. Der Name „Schnöll“ stammt von seinem Vorbesitzer. Der „Marmor“ in diesem Steinbruch ist fossilenreicher, gemischt roter und grauer „Enzersfelder Kalk“ (Kalkstein). Er wurde vor 175-195 Mill. Jahren im Alpinen Jura (Lias) abgelagert. 24 Säulen (1,10 m Durchmesser, 8,10 m hoch, 18 Tonnen schwer) für das österreichische Parlamentsgebäude in Wien wurden 1875-82 in diesem Steinbruch abgebaut und gefertigt.
English: Rot-Grau-Schnöllbruch in en:Adnet, Austria. Owner: Österreichische Bundesforste, Renter: Marmor Kiefer. The name "Schnöll" was coined from the previous owner. The "Marble" in this quarry is rich of fossil, misced red and grey "Enzersfelder Kalk". It was deposited 175-195 Millions years ago in the alpine jurassic. 24 columns (1,10 m diameter, 8,10 high, 18 tons) for the Austrian Houses of Parliament were mined and manufactured from 1875-92 in this quarry. |
