Roskilde cathedral The first (wooden) church on this site was built by Harold Bluetooth who died in 985 and was buried inside. The main body of the first brick (catholic) church was probably completed around 1280. The Reformation in Denmark took place in 1536. At that time the Protestants took over the church. Roskilde cathedral is where the Danish royal family buries his dead. Roskilde kathedraal De eerste (houten) kerk op deze plek werd gebouwd door Harold Bluetooth. Hij stierf in 985 en is in de kerk begraven. De body of de eerste stenen (katholieke) kerk was waarschijnlijk af rond 1280. In 1536 namen de protestanten tijdens de Reformatie de kerk van de katholieken over. Traditioneel worden de Deense koningen en koninginnen in deze kerk begaven. |
