MhS. JOHN lAING (H.P.), ROSY IJNK. EXHIBITING ROSES 133 have either well-developed buds or buds just showingcolour. Having gathered sufficient shoots of anyone sort to make an exhibition bunch, those selectedshould be wired and placed deeply in a bowl, or othervessel holding plenty of water, before proceeding tocut the remaining bunches. When all are gathered,the sprays should be arranged in bunches and theirstems tied together with raffia ready for exhibition onthe morrow. Some taste and care are necessary inarranging these bunches so that the flowers are dis-played to the best advantage. After this has beendone they will require to be again placed in waterand removed to a dry cellar or other cool place forthe night. On the following morning these bunchesmust be taken from the receptacles in which theywere placed and carefully laid on soft paper in thebottom of a Rose-box from which the tray has beenremoved, or, better still, in a ladys cardboard dress-box.
