Summary

[edit]
Description
English: In the early days of canal transport, the ropes used for hauling the canal boats eventually wore grooves where they rubbed against bridges and other structures by the canal. This is the base of an iron bridge across the Birmingham Main Line at Smethwick Junction, looking west.
