Summary
[edit]DescriptionRope changing winch, Deep Navigation Colliery - geograph.org.uk - 755541.jpg |
English: Rope changing winch, Deep Navigation Colliery One of two Clarke, Chapman winches running on compressed air and used for rope changing purposes. They would have run equally well on steam and I'll classify them as steam engines.
The slot in the wall behind is for the lower winding rope from the electric winder and the rope is clearly visible. The shape of the slot indicates a bicylindroconical drum. |
