Description
English: Medieval tinned buckle plate folded widthways with pin-slot and recessed for frame, narrowed and shortened on reverse, face with dashes between zig-zag engraved on flat transverse rib, between two ribs of triangular profile with multiple short engraved lines flanking arris, attachment-end with three (bent) projecting tapering arms with perforated terminals (one containing copper alloy rivet). 34 x 23mm. See parallels on the Portable Antiquities Scheme website, from Amersham, Buckinghamshire (BUC-6560E2), Hanslope, Buckinghamshire (BUC-084602) and Salisbury, Wiltshire (WILT-5CD032). c.1150-c.1250.
