Description
English: A Roman copper alloy fragment of a bracelet/armlet (late 3rd-4th century AD). The fragment comprises the central section of a braceletwith breaks at either end. The bracelet is constructed from two strands of cable twisted together creating an oval cross-section. The breaks have the same pale green patina as the rest of the surface suggesting the damage occurred in antiquity. A similar twisted bracelet was found within a military context at Vindolanda (Birley & Greene 2006: 141-142 SF9064) Dimensions: length: 32.07mm; width: 5.90mm; thickness: 3.66mm; weight: 3.30g Reference: Crummy, N. 1995.
