Description

Honorat's conversion :
Ulcerated by the destruction of their idol, a fringe of ruthenians goes to claim the support of Honorat, a rich patrician living outside the walls. Anger drives him to harness his chariot and, accompanied by a shouting crowd, goes by the doorway of a city gate where the holy bishop prostrated himself to pray the day before. As he enters the city, the horses freeze as they were transformed into statues. Whiplashes and mistreatment cannot make them leave. Honorat sends for the holy man who arrives, and as soon as he touches the chariot, the horses leave as docile as before. Honorat is immpressed, makes an act of contrition, kisses the Blessed's knees and asks for baptism with his entire household came to support him. From then on, he led such a pious and exemplary life that he was placed among the saints.
