Description

Legend of the inflexible provost:
In the first framework, a provost who works for justice in the public arena, condemns a criminal to the gallows as we can see him seen sitting in the hot seat. Judging severe this condemnation, Saint Amantius intercedes for the condemned but he is harshly rebuked by the provost. The second frame shows the provost jostled by divine anger. He falls, inanimate, from his seat. While he is being lifted up, people look for the holy bishop. When he arrives, the provost comes back to life, acknowledges his error, and allows himself to be converted by the holy bishop.
