English: One Nation senator Malcolm Roberts speaking at the "Start Rockhampton Ring Road" Rally at JRT Group in Parkhurst, in the regional Australian city of Rockhampton, Queensland on 4 November 2022.
The independent rally was organised after much anger and disappointment within the local community at the Federal Government's unexpected announcement that the much-anticipated construction of the Rockhampton Ring Road would be delayed due to it being over-budget. With the decision made just prior to construction commencing, the rally was organised in an attempt to convince the Federal Government not to delay the project any further and to continue with the planned construction as scheduled. The rally was attended by a large group of locals, industry leaders, local business owners and political figures. |
