Description
English: Rock outcrop A steeply dipping limestone shale lies close to the surface along a small tributary to the Greenock Water close to the road bridge. Signs of contact metamorphism indicate nearby igneous activity. The nearby Middlefield Law is the most likely source being part of the Distinkhorn complex of igneous intrusions into Silurian sedimentary rocks.
