| Description |
English: A mosque in the city centre, in the Piri Çelebi District. A first mosque was built in 1711, was repaired in 1953 with some additions. From December 2013 it was restored in accordance with its original form. It is a double minaret mosque with a narthex consisting of five sections and a square prayer room. The last congregation area was at some time later closed with glass. There is a mahfil on the entrance of the prayer room. That room is covered with a large dome resting on arched squinches at the corners. The minarets can be reached from the northern corners of the sanctuary. The domes of the mosque are covered with lead. According to the inscription, the first mosque was built by El Hac Muhammed Efendi H. 1123/M. |
