Summary
[edit]DescriptionRiver Suir, Sir Thomas' Bridge (2) - geograph.org.uk - 808400.jpg |
English: River Suir: Sir Thomas' Bridge (2). The bridge, also known as Two Mile Bridge, was built under the direction of Sir Thomas Osborne in 1690. It is one of the structures registered in Trinity College Dublin's National Civil Engineering Heritage Database as an Historic Engineering Work (HEW No. 3238). This is the downstream side with the River Suir flowing from left to right. The river here also demarcates the boundary between Co. Thiobraid Árann (Co. Tipperary) on the far side of the river, and Co. Port Láirge (Co. Waterford) on this side. See File:River Suir, Sir Thomas' Bridge (1) - geograph.org.uk - 808396.jpg for the upstream side. |
