Italiano: A caratterizzare Gravina in Puglia è certamente il ponte viadotto acquedotto, lungo 90 metri,

che collega le due sponde della Gravina. Esso ricorda nella struttura i ponti di epoca romana ma la sua costruzione è più recente, fonti storiche datano con certezza la sua esistenza almeno al 1686. Fu ricostruito dalla celebre famiglia Orsini nel 1722, a seguito di un crollo e furono gli stessi Orsini a volerlo trasformare in un ponte acquedotto per permettere all’acqua della

sorgente naturale di S. Angelo, non molto distante, di raggiungere la città.
English: To characterize Gravina in Puglia is certainly the aqueduct viaduct bridge, 90 meters long,

which connects the two banks of the Gravina. It recalls in the structure the bridges of the Roman era but its construction is more recent, historical sources date with certainty its existence at least to 1686. It was rebuilt by the famous Orsini family in 1722, following a collapse and were the Orsini themselves who wanted to transform it into an aqueduct bridge to allow water from the

natural spring of S. Angelo, not far away, to reach the city.
