Notes Lee Enfield SMLE 4 Mk Ix Sniper's rifle and accessories, WW2 New Zealand issue British Service Rifle During WW2 Britain contracted the American company to provide firearms. The company made over one million Lee Enfield No.4's with around 150,000 being of the Mk I variation and the rest Mk Ix. Supplied to Britain under a lend-lease arrangement were marked US Property. reference- Ian Skennerton- The British Sniper (British and Commonwealth Sniping and Equipments 1915-1983), published 1983.
