This is the last southbound turnout before Swede's Cut. Looking south. Location is just south of Swede's Cut historical photo and marker, which is north of the actual Swede's Cut. The descent in elevation southbound is evident in the photo.

The Ridge Route never had an abundance of turnouts - which during the road's heyday from 1915 to 1933 caused many an automobile driver to become exasperated by slower moving fully loaded trucks - which had a slower speed limit of 12 miles per hour. Photo from private collection of avnative.
