Mahogany cabinet made for the Great Exhibition of 1851 in England, by Richard Ellis (1820–1895). It was constructed to display samples of Harrogate's mineral waters. The front of the cabinet is elaborately carved in bas relief, and at the top is a 3D carving of Harrogate's Royal Pump Room. The interior of the case is still lined with the original red velvet, and backed with silvered plate glass. As of 2024, the cabinet was in the Royal Pump Room museum, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. |
