Description
English: Richard (Dick) Brookins (1922-2018) dressed as Saint Nicholas, in Wiltz, Luxembourg, on 1944-12-05. Saint Nicholas ("Kleeschen") is the traditional present-bringer in Luxembourg. A few soldiers of the 28th US Infantary Division spontaneously decided to cheer up children of Wiltz, where they were staying, by enacting the arrival of the 'Saint' and distributing small presents to local children. The picture shows Brookins in a 'bishop' dress, accompanied by local kids dressed as 'angels' and a bemused driver.
