English: Five-and-ten-cent variety stores were very popular in the earlier part of the twentieth century. Seattle's locally-owned five and dime was Rhodes Brothers Ten Cent Store. This photo shows the elegant facade of Rhodes Brothers' second downtown store, which occupied this space on the west side of Fourth Avenue at 318 Pike Street from 1924-1931. Since the mid-1980s, the site has been occupied by the Century Square office building.
