Description
English: Artist's impression of Rho Cassiopeiae. Rho Cassiopeiae is a G2Iae (F8pIa-K0pIa-0) yellow hypergiant star in the constellation Cassiopeia. It has 40 M☉, 450-1000 R☉ and nearly 550 000 times as luminious as the Sun. If viewed from a distance of 10 AU (Saturn-Sun distance, 1 496 000 000 km), it looks like as a giant 36°4'38" sphere. Sun is only 0°3'12" from this distance. Depicton based on 700 R☉ size (974 386 000 km in diameter). For a star so massive it will explode as a hypernova and remnant will be a black hole.
