Summary

[edit]
Description

This was my second Ruger 10/22 rifle. As I write this, I believe I am up to about four or five of them. They are inexpensive and fun to customize.

An earlier photo of this rifle is, for some reason, the most popular in my Flickr photostream.

This rifle features a machined aluminum Rhineland Arms stock. These used to retail for a little more than $100. I design machined parts myself and could never understand how an outfit in Texas could afford to make these stocks and offer them through distribution with an MSRP of around $100. They are still selling them, for $135.

Frankly, it's a much nicer stock than the other machined aluminum stocks I have seen out there. I really think it's a steal at $135 and would happily pay $200 for such a high quality piece.

I installed a bull barrel, but otherwise haven't done anything fancy with the innards of this rifle. The magazine is an Eagle ten-rounder with a little sliding shuttle doo-dad that presses the lame factory magazine release and makes it easy to remove the magazine. It was clear and I painted it tactical black.

The scope is a Mueller APV 4.5-14x 40mm with adjustable objective. The big-ass lens shroud makes the little .22 look like an evil sniper rifle!

The side Picatinny rails are from Mesa Tactical and I think that's a Magpul MOE buttstock.
