Notes
[edit]Kevin Borland writes in 2018: "There was a Charles Lindauer born 1808 who was an engraver in the census, but I don't know his middle name. He married in Strasbourg.
Richard Norton writes in 2018: There is a banker in the 1888 version of the The Bankers' Directory and List of Bank Attorneys in Rheinbischofsheim. He most likely would "Charles Frederick Lindauer" based on the family naming system. He would have been "Carl Friedrich Lindauer" in German and his father was also Carl Friedrich Lindauer. The father appears to be a merchant and the son a banker.
