Revox B215 cassette deck - service and modding

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Revox B215 cassette deck - recording PCB - two large film caps bypassing the fader VCA (LM13700 IC, top left). The function is useless, so if it can be easily removed - why not do it? The fader circuitry remains in place, the capacitors simply bypass it. Fortunately, the combined full-throttle gain of the VCA, including its input attenuator, is exactly unity. To preserve it, however, the impedance seen by the output of the preceding CMOS switch must be made equal to that of the (now disconnected) attenuator. The extra resistors, added to match the impedances, are on the other side of the board.
