Text:
Kind friends: You no doubt have heard of my arrest, Dec. 7, 1914, for "practicing medicine, and surgery without a license." I do not prescribe medicine nor do I perform surgical operations. I do heal the sick by the "spoken word," brain cell building and health instructions...It is no crime to change a body of disease into one of health; an insane mind into one of sanity and crushed soul into one of joy!...Conscientious physicians and real Christians are not persecuting Lucas;--only the "professing ones" are endeavoring to stem the tide of new ideas and methods.
