14 April 2010. Tottenham Hale Station forecourt. Back in May 2008 I was highly critical of the poor standard of cleanliness in the forecourt outside Tottenham Hale Station. I posted a series of photos illustrating this. And also suggested some possible explanations why this was so. Click here to see this set of photos. Two years later, I was pleased to write that standards of cleanliness at the station looked far higher. There seemed a lot less dumped rubbish; with fewer bags awaiting collection. When I took this photo the litter bins were not crammed full. There was far less litter on the ground. My ward colleague Cllr Lorna Reith wondered how much of the improvement was due to better cleaning. She thought it was also possible that, for several months, less litter was dropped because many of the buses were not stopping at the station. So there were fewer people waiting or arriving at the station bus stops. We'll be keeping an eye on this. |
